The course is highly recommended to all employees who work with the VFC program. Vaccines For Children (VFC) is a Federally Funded Program that provides free vaccines to children who would otherwise not be able to be vaccinated because they cannot pay. The CDC buys vaccines at a discount and distributes them to fellows – that is, public health services and some local and territorial public health authorities – who distribute them free of charge to private medical practices and public clinics registered as VFC providers. Children eligible for VFC vaccines are entitled to vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
